Hello

Hi! I'm Syd, and I'm a Sound Designer, Composer, and Musician from Manchester. Music and Sound has been a major part of my life since I was a child- my first experience came when I started learning violin aged 6, to which I later added flute, piano, singing, composition, and gamelan. During my undergraduate music degree at the University of Birmingham I fell in love with electronic music and electroacoustic composition, which led me to undertake my Masters in Sound Design at MMU. Now, I want to combine my deep knowledge of music with the audio editing and sound design skills I have learnt during my time in higher education and work as a Sound Designer for video games and visual media. As an avid gamer, I know how important sound and music can be in creating a coherent and realistic world that both compliments and enhances a story, and I aspire to create immersive and fantastical worlds that the viewer or player can fully lose themselves within.
